Why Online?
Our mission here at Learn Film Online is to touch as many film-makers’ lives as possible using efficient education online. The internet is only 15 years old, still in high school, so we haven’t tapped into its full potential even yet. But at this moment, its capacity has grown to the point where it can give us the opportunity to teach and help support film-makers’ dreams all over the world. Imagine you’re at your local coffee shop learning right from your iPhone, and even sharing that information with the friend you are having coffee with. Now you’ve passed on the knowledge and you, my friend, have just become an expert in the field. Even if you’re on a set and need a quick question answered and bam…you have us at your finger tips. Also, we have many connections all over the world, and strive to connect students with jobs in their area. Honestly, sometimes we have more gigs than we have students.
Ok, guys, I’m interested. What do I do to enroll?
It’s very simple. Just sign up on the form that pops up or go to the home page. Enter in your email, and we will let you know what the next step is to getting involved. Using email, we will take you through the steps for signing up. We only accept 30 students at a time. Our waiting list has already started piling up, so make sure you sign up to find out if you will be on it! So time to put some ACTION to your dream. Don’t look back years from now, and say ‘I should have’!
How does it EXACTLY all work?
The courses are taught over a state of the art interactive online learning interface called Simversity. Here, you will be able to have direct contact with your instructors, fellow students, and the course material. The courses are as hands on as possible via internet. You will be learning from videos, lesson blogs, and have assignments and discussions. Each course is generally 6 weeks long, 5 days a week, with students only required to spend 15-20 minutes on the daily lessons (or however long it takes the student to complete the course material), plus an occasional online meet with the instructor and students. This allows students to learn efficiently over a short period of time, but at a pace that it’s not crammed into the head. Course sessions are every Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. To be in the loop of the courses that will be taught next, make sure to sign up on the form to the right!
